The Rebecca Bjornsdotter Journey
Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter: The Swedish luxury footwear brand Rebecca Björnsdotter, launched two years ago with a dream to create nordic inspired statement shoes for strong and brave women. Rebecca Björnsdotter’s surname translates into ‘bear’s daughter’. And this epitomizes the brand. Every tiny detail is though out to make women feel strong as a bear. Since the start the brand has been getting a lot of attention from both buyers, press and celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Josephine Skriver, Caroline Vreeland, Lucy Hale have been spotted wearing the shoes to name a few.
The Many Sources of Inspiration
Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter: We take a lot of inspiration from Scandinavian nature, history and the brave female vikings. This can be spotted throughout the design. The metallic laser cut heels was originally inspired by a viking shield and the colors are taken from the nordic countryside. The cut-out sandals were inspired from a rune stone and beautifully crafted by hand by artist in the factory in Italy. We always keep our core at heart when designing new pieces, they are though out to be more like jewelry rather that seasonal pieces.

The Impact of Social Media
Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter: Social media is an amazing platform to reach out globally, and also to get inspiration. It gives us a different opportunity to reach out to strong women, to get feedback which is great when being an emerging designer, as well as being able to collaborate with other brands and influencers in a much faster pace.
A Usual Day in Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter’s Life
Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter: As we are based in Helsingborg (a small town) in the south of Sweden we are surrounded by the countryside as well as the ocean. To have nature just at our doorstep is very peaceful and a great source of inspiration. We are a small team and focus on production as well as communication and slowly growing bit by bit. Our days offer a lot of variation as we spend our time between the office in Sweden, the factory in Italy as well as traveling to meet buyers and press. We love to be able to be so involved in this journey and to see the shoes from design to finished product is very rewarding.

Team Rebecca Bjornsdotter: This is the beauty with shoes, you can style them in such different ways. We love to mix a pair of classic pewter braid sandals with cropped jeans and leather jacket as well as wearing a pair of statement boots with a romantic dress. The possibilities are endless!
